I'm pretty sure he didn't make anything as he's not a DIY guy. Perhaps he got the brakets from some other source. Not sure, however, he had not even tried to mount them on his own bike and not really done anything with them, so not sure what went on if those brackets are not yours. The mounting method was with what I thought was provided, note that these are the earliest version of the Magnic lights, that my friend had bought but never used... > It shows that your installation is not correct and you might get 20% of the real power (I assume even less). I know the mounting is not optimal and won't give as much light as it would otherwise, but that was exactly the issue of my test, to see what would happen if I didn't resort to modifying (or bending the mounting brackets etc.) and if the geometry of the bike is such that mounting with provided materials is not optimal. I had the same type of issues with the Reelight Nova actually... (and other issues). With the Reelight Nova mounting was also not optimal for the front, and not possible due to cable length at the rear, but in your case there is the issue of light getting blocked by the tyre which took a a fair amount of light away from getting onto the road and that was also a thing I wanted to show. > You also tested Reelight Nova (we are cooperating with Reelight and compared the two systems 3 weeks ago): > Magnic Light is ~400 % stronger than Nova. How come yours are stronger, a new version of the induction dynamo with better magnets or bigger ones, or other changes such as better LEDs? (I would think a 4x improvement would not be possible just from LEDs) > You can see correctly installed Magnic Lights in this video ( I made it with my own bike): > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TI_Tcq-ZMn4 I don't have the Magnic lights any more, I sent them to another friend (who is also a friend of the owner) for testing/playing and perhaps he sent them back, but if it is so much brighter than the Nova, I would be interested to have a look. I still think there is an issue with the tyres, the ones in the picture are very wide of course (60mm) but normally on that bike I use 50 mm and with that I suppose there will still be a lot of light that gets bounced off of and absorbed by the tyres, or have you changed the light/generator so that the light itself is mounted more to the outside?
