A problem is a pessimist's view of a challenge: ----------------------------------------------- Some writers have written about this but they don't do a very good job. An example in NL is Berthold Gunster with his book "Huh?!", who coincidentally mentions giving a lecture in Ukraine. He mentions a situation where he tells people that certain things don't matter. The problem with him, and with the similar book by Eckhart Tolle called "The power of now" is that they are not able to properly explain it. Here is a review about this book on amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/RDFW2SJ1MCZK/ [ insert screenshot so as not to need to download anything ] This review is very funny, but wrong. As I mentioned, you can look at a situation as a challenge, instead of a problem. What you can also do is go with the flow, change your plans, but that is really also a solution, namely the challenge was completed by changing your plans. So the writer is correct but the problem is that he is not able to properly explain how to change your point of view. The saying that I quoted is a good start to make it more clear. The problem with many topics about 'self help' is that these people understand some essence of life, but they do not grasp it at a high enough level to properly teach others... For the same reason, there is a difference between a teacher who can explain a topic and who has deeper knowledge of what works and what doesn't, and why, and a student who has been explained it and understood the reasoning and can after some more practice correctly answer the question on a test, but he can't teach it to other students...
