I went southwards to the hilly terrain of Germany to Kassel, where I thought about taking the train to Poland, but decided to cycle on to Leipzig but there I decided to return to NL due to too many issues with the equipment I had with me. That one of front low riders broke (with the other likely to follow) was the final straw.
The first part is from the border near Groenlo in NL, near Zwillbrock in DE, to the south (too much so, as I got into far too much hilly terrain esp. in the region near Kassel).
After Quedlinburg I got talking to a guy who suggested me to stay at a camping ground near the above beergarden (Biergarten am Mönchemühlenteich) but nobody answered, so I continued cycling a bit, sought a place to set up my tent. Sleeping in the tent that night was a fairly miserable experience due to the rain. The next day I cycled on towards Leipzig but I had been pondering what to do for the previous day when one of my front lowriders broke and decided to return to NL I think when I got to (or perhaps just before) Leipzig.
The following pictures are from the way back to the border with NL. I took a different route through Germany, as northward as possible to avoid the hilly terrain:
